Why Cement for Moroccan Tiles?

Cement is a commonly used substance for many Moroccan tile spaces. Cement has been used by artisans around Morocco for years to create beautiful surfaces that can last for a very long time. In fact, cement is heavily favored by some artisans because it is very easy to mold it into different shapes and patterns before it can set itself into stone. You might be surprised to see that most of the more elaborate Moroccan tile patterns you might run into are made with grooves that were scooped out not from anything being cut but rather from the cement being removed from a series of strategic spots. You might be impressed with this because it involves so many nice styles to making it look more interesting. All of these styles will be finalized as soon as they are heated up through a kiln.

Cement has several other benefits that make it a hit among many options for Moroccan tiles. Cement is capable of resisting fire. Then again, the fact that cement can thrive in the extremely hot conditions of a kiln makes it capable of keeping itself intact. Also, cement does not require too much maintenance. You don not have to paint over your cement tiles all the time. This is especially helpful if you plan on using these Moroccan surfaces outside your home. Concrete can even be useful for the planet because it does not take too much energy for anyone to process concrete. This is very different from traditional plastic tiles that are commonly used in so many places.
