Moroccan Tiles Can Be ChiseledYou don’t have to get flat tiles when finding Moroccan tile options. You can find ones that have been chiseled into. A chiseled tile will utilize a ceramic base material. This base material will feature a singular color in most cases. An expert artisan from Morocco will then carve a special design into the tile. This design may include a series of curves and indentations depending on what the artisan feels is right. This design may also be adjusted to get multiple tiles to match up with each other with a consistent arrangement that can be utilized around the entire floor or wall that you want to add something into. The patterns that are created will vary by each model but they should include a number of different curves that are traditionally asymmetrical to make the design a little more unique and consistent. These can also include many colors on the top surfaces of these tiles ranging from black to orange to red.
Chiseled tiles are made to create a small series of white marks around their insides. These white marks are reflective of the enamel materials that these Moroccan tiles are made out of. The handmade process used for each tile is also a necessity so the chiseling process will be as accurate and useful as it can be. In fact, this can be done by hand although most artisans around Morocco prefer to use cutting machines to facilitate the process of creating these tiles as quickly as possible. |
