Henna for Moroccan Lanterns

The odds are you might have heard about the use of henna when painting Moroccan lanterns. Henna is a popular material used in Morocco and other parts around Northern Africa for the use of many art applications. Henna is a commonly used substance that is often prepared for creating the black inks that might add to the total appearance of a lantern. Henna is a material that comes directly from the Lawsonia Intermis plant. It is harvested and crushed down into a powder. This is traditionally mixed with water to create a thick paste that has a texture similar to paint. This paste will create a black ink that is traditionally used on many different lanterns and other wooden or metallic Moroccan decor products.

Sometimes eucalyptus oil is added to the henna to give it a thicker texture and to make it stick on the lantern without risking any smears all over its body. In addition, some dyes may be used to create a few alternative colors besides black. However, you might be better off using a standard black color when finding something appropriate for all kinds of Moroccan lanterns that you could add in your home. Be sure to check on the henna designs on a lantern if you want something that features more than just a standard metallic design. The henna designs should be made to create a beautiful lantern that has some of the most intricate patterns you could ever ask for in such an item.
