Clearing Wax Off of Moroccan LanternsWhile candles might be made to give you some beautiful lights for your Moroccan lanterns, they are also capable of melting over the top. This means that there are times when you might see some wax moving out from your lantern and onto its sides. It’s an annoying problem but it is not something that you have to put up with all the time. You can clear this wax off with a few simple steps. First, you have to scrape off as many pieces as possible. Next, you should use hot water on the candle to get some of the wax off. It might be best to use water that is at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit so you can avoid burning the lamp while also making the wax a little softer. While wax does technically melt at 150 degrees, a lighter tone will help you to soften the spots on your lantern so they will be a little easier to chisel or clear off.
Next, you have to wipe off any liquefied wax off of the lantern with a towel. A soft paper towel should be good enough because it won’t leave any residues on the lantern. You might have to repeat the steps listed here a few more times depending on how much wax is on the side. You have to do this in order to actually clear out all the wax that gets on your lantern. Wax can be a hassle but you can easily clear it off of all kinds of Moroccan lanterns when the right steps are used. |
